Doune Castle 7

After an unconvincing first half, Doune swept aside Castlemilk with a second half barrage that saw them net five goals in the game’s final quarter.

With their first real attack, Doune struck after 12 minutes.

Richard Smith sprayed a precise long pass over the Castlemilk backline to Colin Burke. From 18 yards, Burke calmly lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper to make it 1-0.

Sean Heaver missed a good opportunity to extend the lead. Steven Fotheringham then sprang to his left to save as Castlemilk battled for an equaliser.

Doune reached halftime with their 1-0 advantage intact.

On 54 minutes, Doune made it 2-0. Sean Heaver sped down the left wing and slipped the ball across the face of the goal. Colin Burke took full advantage to turn the ball home from 8 yards.

On 68 minutes, Sean Heaver made it 3-0. Heaver latched on to a through ball from Alan Inglis to break clear before guiding the ball under the keeper from 16 yards.

Within a minute, it was 4-0. Sean Heaver squared for Alan Inglis to slot the ball home from 5 yards.

Doune swept upfield and made it 5-0 after 75 minutes. Chris Ogilvie drew the keeper and drove the ball across the face of the goal. Alan More side footed home from 6 yards.

Doune made it 6-0 on 80 minutes. Lukasz Duszynski threaded a fine pass through to Alan Inglis who smashed the ball into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

Niall McClure rounded off the scoring with two minutes remaining. Alan Inglis slipped the ball into McClure’s path. McClure broke clear of the defence before firing under the keeper from 16 yards to make it 7-0.

Doune take great credit for a sparkling second half display to secure another three league points.
