SKIPPER Andy Graham was the stand-out performer for Alloa as they took all three points away to Queen of the South on Saturday.

The centre back led by example, and grabbed the opening goal of the fixture.

But he wasn't the only one to turn up as they rest of Jim Goodwin's side put in a solid shift in Dumfries.

Neil Parry..................................8

An excellent double save, albeit flagged offside, in what was a very good day for the stopper. Looked calm and composed and helped his back four.

Scott Taggart.............................6

While he was beaten too easily on occasion, the fullback was generally very good. A couple of dangerous runs forward.

Liam Dick.................................7

Had to do a lot of work both offensively and defensively. Dealt well with the threat of Stephen Dobbie when he drifted wide.

Sam Roscoe...............................8

The youngster was tremendous beside Andy Graham. Facing Stephen Dobbie and Lyndon Dykes is never easy, but they stuck to the task well.

Andy Graham (star man)........9

What a performance. It’s not often that he makes the difference at both ends of the pitch, but he did on Saturday. Finish was that of a striker and defended like a lion.

Kevin Cawley............................7

The winger worked incredibly hard all over the pitch for his team. Didn’t shy away from the defensive necessities either.

Connor Shields (off 68)............7

Went off with an illness after what had been another promising game for the loanee. A couple of inviting deliveries. Should have made it two, however, but fired over.

Steven Hetherington................8

Was the best player on the park last week and pretty much matched those heights this week. Pivotal once again.

Iain Flannigan (off 88)............7

Actually underhit the delivery for the first goal - not that anyone would have noticed had Jim Goodwin not revealed all. Otherwise, worked hard and showed composure when it was needed.

Alan Trouten (off 73)...............6

A quiet day for the club’s top goal scorer. Some nice touches and movement, but didn’t really threaten in the box. Curled one just wide in the second half.

Dario Zanatta...........................7

Only thing missing was a goal. Lovely cross for Kirkpatrick’s winner. Ran himself into the ground and harried the Queens rearguard.

Jon Robertson (on 88).............4

Barely touched the ball but joined in the celebrations all the same.

Jack Hamilton (on 68)............5

Alloa mixed up the shape as they tried to stifle the Queen of the South attacking threat. The youngster could have held the ball up better.

Jordan Kirkpatrick (on 73).....7

A superb header at the back post secured all three points at the death and he will hope this kick-starts his season.
