ALBIAN Ajeti last night expressed confidence he can form a formidable strike partnership with Odsonne Edouard and fire Celtic to 10-In-A-Row this season after completing his £5m move to Parkhead.

Ajeti, who has signed a four year deal, will wear the No10 shirt and stressd he understands the importance of winning the Premiership in the 2020/21 campaign to his new club.

However, the 23-year-old believes he can link up well with leading scorer Edouard in attack for Neil Lennon’s side and help them to make history by lifting the Scottish title.

"I know that it's a huge season for Celtic and Scottish football,” the Swiss internationalist said. "I know what this means to take the No10.

"But I am very positive about this season and I am looking forward to what is ahead. We will do our best to reach our goals at the end of the season.”

Asked about Edouard, he said: “I have seen some of his games and I think he and I could be a good match. We could be perfect together.

“If you have two quite good strikers, it’s always good for a team. We will both be in the box, always there where it can be dangerous. I might be a smaller striker than he is, but I think it’s a good match.”

Ajeti, who has played for Augsburg, St Gallen, Basel and West Ham in the past five years, was initially expected to move to Celtic on a season-long loan.

The 6ft forward stated he was keen to settle down at one club and remain in Glasgow for the duration of his contract.

"The type of deal was between the clubs, not just me,” he said. "But I am more than happy that I have signed for four years.

"I have signed a contract at Celtic for four years and I want at a club like this for that time. I want to share all the great moments with the top fans we have here, and the top players. That is why I came to Celtic and I want to be here for a very long time.”
