Strathearn Harriers members are no strangers to fundraising efforts for local and national charities.

In 2015, club members raised nearly £10,000 for a range of charities, including the Lilias Graham Trust, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Resolution, Pancreatic Cancer Action, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Strathearn Sports Fund.

This year will be no exception, and leading the way are Paul and Wendy Taylor and their friend Gary Brock.

The trio are running next month’s London Marathon to raise money for Leukaemia Care, having been inspired by the young daughter of friends who has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

Craig and Carole Ewing’s 7-year old daughter Amber is in P3 at Crieff Primary School and is currently undergoing treatment for the disease in Edinburgh.

Leukaemia CARE is a national blood cancer support charity that provides information and support to all whose lives have been affected by a blood or lymphatic cancer diagnosis.

Paul, Wendy and Gary will be joining a large group of runners from all over the UK raising money for the charity.

This will be Paul’s 8th marathon, and Wendy’s 4th, but it’s a marathon debut for Gary, and everyone at the club wishes them well.
