Crieff & Strathearn U16s .......... 21

Perthshire .................................. 21

LAST Sunday, Crieff & Strathearn U16's travelled to play a friendly against local rivals Perthshire on a very waterlogged pitch at Perth Inch.

The Crieff side battled well in the conditions and scored the first points of the day after some good rugby.

But it wasn't long before the Perth side fought back and they eventually managed to level the game just before half time.

In the second half, the Blue and Golds regained the lead after the forwards won ball to ship it out to the backs who in turn scored a cracking try.

At this stage of the game, it was anyone's match to win and Perth won another try to level the score for the second time.

Then after some dubious and controversial refereeing decisions, the home side took the lead. All was not lost for Crieff and Strathearn, however, and they were not to be denied as they went onto score a late try to level the game at 21-21.

A great game in atrocious conditions, but the Crieff side will be looking forward to the return match at Braidhaugh in a few weeks where they will be looking to set the scores right.
