FALKIRK singer Calum Baird will showcase his latest work in the form of an EP next month.

Fresh from the success of his single Stones of Tomorrow this summer, the songwriter began working on some new material.

As the tracks came together, Baird realised they all shared common themes. And so instead of releasing them as singles, he opted to put all into an EP called A View From the Notebooks.

He says: "This is a short, folk and singer-songwriter EP influenced by different musical styles from country and blues similar to Neil Young and Bob Dylan, to more classic, singer-songwriter tones infused with protest and political song.

"I wrote, recorded and produced this EP myself in my home studio over a period of two or three months, learning to be my own producer as I went along."

Furthermore, having developed his interest in painting over lockdown, Baird brought the artwork to life from the canvas himself.

Calum Baird – A View From the Notebooks will be released on Friday, December 4.
