A CLACKS primary school is celebrating being awarded Rights Respecting Schools – Silver Rights Aware status.
Deerpark Primary achieved the second stage of the Rights Respecting Schools Award after being assessed by one of UNICEF UK’s professional advisers.
The Sauchie school earned the accolade after displaying good progress towards embedding children’s rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in school policy, practice and ethos.
A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: “The entire school community is delighted its efforts have been recognised and sights are now being set on becoming a Gold Rights Respecting School.”
