DALRY dog owner Mary Owen was crying with joy when she got the call that her beloved red Labrador Honey had been found after almost being missing for eight days.
We asked Herald readers to help find Honey after she went missing at Lochwinnoch Golf Course last Wednesday.
And early this morning (Thursday) Mary got a call that Honey had been spotted on the main road between Lochwinnoch and Kilbirnie.
For the last two days, Mary and her family had used a professional dog walker to go along the roads leaving old clothes in a bid to make Honey appear.
And today Mary got the call she had been longing for.
"I can't believe it, my daughter has found our girl," said Mary, fighting back the tears.
"We had been going out and putting old clothes to try and get her to stay somewhere near the main road so that we could see her.
"A woman called us to say she thought she was in her garden and Carol my daughter ran over.
"I was at the stage of getting a professional person from Livingston to get cages out and help us.
"But when my Carol went to the houses at Lochhead Honey was sitting there, she said she just looked exhausted.
"I would like to thank everyone who read about Honey and kept an eye out for her, my eyes are stinging with tears and she is away to the vet to get checked before my girl comes home to me."
