Face-to-face breastfeeding groups are back up and running across Ayrshire after falling victim to the pandemic over the last 18 months.
Breastfeeding Network Ayrshire and Arran’s groups are still following all the latest COVID guidelines to keep everyone safe., with chairs being placed one-metre apart and toys are being cleaned with disinfectant after every group.
The groups aim to teach new and recurring mums about the benefits that breastfeeding can have on them and their children.
As well as this, it is a chance for mums to meet other parents in a similar situation to them and gives them a chance to share any issues or problems that they have with people that could be on hand to provide the perfect solution.
Also, it provides the mums and babies with some much-needed interaction after
what has been a gruelling year-and-a-half for everyone.
Various groups are available across Ayrshire, with any interested parents being asked to show their interest on Facebook, prior to the event happening to accommodate for social distancing. Some virtual groups are also still running, with more info on their website.
