A YOUNG man has died after a traffic collision in Forth Valley.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, following the incident on the A84 between Buchany and Callander on Wednesday, July 22.

Officers were made aware of the collision, involving a silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Peugeot 3008, around 6.35pm.

Emergency services attended, but could not save the male driver.

However, another male driver and female passenger were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital - where they remain in a stable condition.

The road was closed between Buchany and Callander for around seven hours to allow crash investigation work to be carried out.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Ruth Aitchison, Stirling's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or either vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.

“We are also asking locals and drivers to review their CCTV and dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation.”
