A FORTNIGHT has gone by without any deaths linked to coronavirus in Clackmannanshire.

Latest data from National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows Covid-19 was not mentioned on a single death certificate locally in the weeks beginning July 6 and July 13.

This means the total number of deaths linked to the virus in the Wee County remains at 48.

Of those 48 deaths, 35 occurred in care homes, 12 in hospital, and one at a home or other non-institutional setting.

Turning to the area’s health board, NRS stats show there have been 239 deaths linked to coronavirus recorded by NHS Forth Valley.

And in Scotland overall, 4,193 deaths have been attributed to the virus.

Of those deaths, more than three quarters (77 per cent) involved people aged 75 or over.

The NRS data is published at 12noon ever Wednesday, and the latest figures cover the period from December 30, 2019 to July 19, 2020.
