BEST kept secrets of Scone Palace are set to be revealed on TV this Friday.

Susan Calman, presenter of Secret Scotland, will pay a visit to the crowning place of Scottish kings when the show airs on Channel 5 at 8pm.

She was recently taking in some of the stunning local countryside and went on a search for secret stories and hidden treasures.

While she was not allowed to give too much away, Scone Palace marketing manager Margo Baird, said: “We can say that Susan spent quite a bit of time indulging her passion for mazes with our head gardener Brian Cunningham, as well as being guided around the house by Lady Mansfield and Mary, one of our long serving guides.

“In many respects it's a very unusual tour of Scone Palace with a real chance for visitors to see behind the scenes and even what's hidden behind some closed doors and hidden panels and we're sure visitors will be very surprised by what Susan has to show them."

Those who would like to see for themselves can visit the grounds and gardens this weekend as part of the Snowdrop Festival with free entry from 10am to 4pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during winter months.
