THE annual Sparks in the Park fireworks display was another huge hit in Clacks, dazzling locals with its biggest event yet.

Taking place at Alloa’s West End Park last Saturday, November 9, attendees were treated to a huge display as well as a performance by Spiceworld, Scotland’s only Spice Girls tribute act.

John Dornan, part of organising group Alloa Round Table, was once again thrilled with another fantastic turnout.

He said: “It went really well, it was absolutely brilliant. We’re very pleased.

“The event ran smoothly with no hassle; it’s always a really good crowd."

John admitted the absence of a bonfire was a cause for concern; however, it didn’t affect the numbers.

He added: “At a rough guess there was between three and four thousand people.

“It’s now at a stage where we’re attracting people from all over Scotland.”

The fireworks display is organised and funded by round table members and all proceeds from the event go to funding the purchase of Christmas presents for underprivileged kids through Clackmannanshire.

John would like to offer his sincere thanks to all who attended this year and promised next year will be “bigger and better”.
