THE body of missing Clacks man Redmond Taylor is said to have been recovered by police on Friday morning.

A search operation was launched to trace the 26-year-old earlier this year.

He was last seen leaving Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert at around 12.30pm on Tuesday, February 12.

Officers released a CCTV image of him walking through the Torwood area an hour later.

In March, his brother Bob made an impassioned public appeal at Alloa Police Station for Redmond to come home.

He said: "I just can't understand why he has went missing, and I just really want him to get in touch."

Police continued their search and shortly before noon last Friday they found a body in the Torwood Castle area of Larbert.

A spokesperson said: "Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Redmond's family have been informed and will be kept fully updated.

"Officers would like to thank the public for their ongoing support and the assistance provided throughout the enquiry so far.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
