THE latest comic festival will roll into Stirling this weekend as fans get the chance to see their favourite movie props up close.

Comic-mania has been sweeping the country of late, as a series of Comic Con events celebrating comics, fantasy and cosplay have been taking place all over Scotland. BGCP Comic Con has been spearheading the movement touring Scotland and returns to Stirling for the second time.

Last year BGCP Comic Con sold out The Albert Halls with a crowd of over 2000 people. They have now moved the event to Stirling County Rugby Football Club in order to grow the event.

The event takes place on May 25 from 10am until 4pm at the club and will feature over 60 traders, Cosplayers, Hollywood Green Screen, face painting, comic art classes, movie props, cosplay competition and The DeLorean from the Back to the Future Trilogy which fans can have their picture taken with free of charge.

Organiser, Ian Bonar, of BGCP Comic Con, said: “Stirling was by far our best event last year, the advanced ticket sales and sales on the day were exceptional, people queued for hours to get into the event and nobody was turned away.

“We have found a bigger venue so we don't have those issues. We're hoping to blow last year out of the water and keep returning to Stirling every year."

The event is suitable for all ages. Adult tickets are £4 and under 10's are £2 but tickets bought in advance are half price at www.bgcp.co.uk
