A PERTHSHIRE landmark went purple at the weekend to raise awareness of fibromyalgia.

Scone Palace was illuminated in purple light as part of the awareness drive to support Fibro Friends United (FFU) Scotland CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise.

FFU-Scotland CIC, which provides education, support and advocacy services to people living with Fibromyalgia across Scotland, has been inviting people to join them in “lighting up Scotland purple” on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12 to link in with International Fibromyalgia Day.

Stephen Brannigan, head of palace and events at Scone Palace, said: “Scone Palace is delighted to be able to support FFU-Scotland CIC's campaign to shine a purple light on fibromyalgia and how it affects those living with the condition.

“It was wonderful to see the palace walls illuminated this weekend in support of the campaign and we hope this will inspire people to learn more about the condition and support FFU-Scotland CIC's excellent work."
