A WOMAN has been slapped with a Community Payback Order at Alloa Sheriff Court for numerous theft charges.

Kate Barnes, 33, appeared for sentencing in relation to two matters on Thursday, February 14.

Between May 31, 2017 and August 10, 2017, the 33-year-old stole items from various addresses in Alloa, and one in Sauchie.

The items, some of which Barnes stole while acting with another individual, included wallets, purses, bank cards, a ring and other valuables.

She also appeared over a shoplifting charge from the New Look store in Shillinghill on June 5 of last year.

Every offence that Barnes committed took place while she was out on bail.

Referring to a report prepared for the court, Greg Cunningham, defending, said: "There appear to be two recommendations: deferral of sentencing for community engagement, or to place her on a CPO with supervision."

He then urged the court to follow the latter of the recommendations.

Sheriff David Mackie agreed with the submission, and handed Barnes, of Greenfield Street in Alloa, a CPO with a 12 month supervision requirement.
