IF IT'S true that the way to a lover’s heart is through their stomach, then Knock Castle Hotel & Spa will have romance in full flow this week.

The award-winning Perthshire retreat has introduced a brand-new menu this month, with dishes sure to capture the imagination of visiting couples.

Jason Henderson, head chef and owner, created a selection of tempting treats to add to the culinary classics being served in the hotel’s atmospheric dining room which recently scooped a top award for hotel restaurant of the year.

Among some of the dishes on the a la carte menu is Solway Coast Sea Bass with saffron-scented potato as well as glazed artichoke heart and baby pear gnocchi served with a burnt orange dressing.

In addition to the range of new foods, some of the signature dishes are still available such the Aberdeen Angus beef or the hotel’s famous West Coast hand-dived scallops on a creamy white chocolate risotto.

For something more casual, the bar menus have been updated too and feature a selection of elegant yet comforting dishes.

All the produce used is sourced locally and the hotel prides itself on using only the finest quality foods.

These standards along with the artistic flair of the team have been a hit with guests for many years and Knock Castle Hotel has now become synonymous with top quality cuisine.

Head chef Jason said: "I always enjoy updating the menus in the new year and as we’ve won a few awards of late, we can’t afford to rest on our laurels.

"People know and love their food and our guests have come to expect something special on their plates when they come to Knock Castle.

"I must make sure we constantly deliver, not just on what they’re eating but the overall experience of the hotel. I’m confident the new menu will go down well with guests, old and new."
