THE Tilly Glen Action Group held their monthly clean up at the weekend.

A hardy group of volunteers met on Sunday, January 13, to take part in the clean-up which involved cutting the growth away, tidying the paths and cleaning away all the moss at the glen’s entrance.

It was a real team effort from the group who meet once a month to keep the place looking fresh and tidy for its countless visitors.

A wild flower garden has also been installed for the insect life in the surrounding areas.

Jane, a member of the action group, told the Advertiser that their efforts are always appreciated.

She said: “Everybody always says what a good job we do around the glen.

"Everyone who comes and visits and lives around the glen is always pleased with the job that we do.

"The kids at the nearby school planted bulbs recently and I think they’ll look very picturesque come the spring.”

Jane wished to pay thanks to all the volunteers who come and brave the elements every month.

She added: “Without all the volunteers we wouldn’t be able to do this. Most come every month.”
