A DOLLAR man's road rage sparked a daytime brawl with a bus driver in front of stunned passengers, a court has heard.

Sean Robertson saw red as he followed the bus to Tillicoultry before later exchanging blows with the driver.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty at a trial diet previously and appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 10.

On January 25 of last year, he and Thomas Millar, the bus driver on duty, became embroiled in an argument over who had right of way on Gartmorn Road, Sauchie.

After words were exchanged between the pair, Robertson followed the bus where it eventually stopped on Moss Road, to let off passengers.

At that point, Robertson drove to the side of the bus where another war of words erupted between the pair.

Roberton, 31, then got out of his car and walked towards the bus, prompting Millar to also get out.

The pair then exchanged punches as shocked witnesses looked on before police were contacted.

Millar then got back in his bus and tried to drive off, although Robertson briefly stood in front of the vehicle to stop it from leaving.

By the time police arrived, both men had left the scene.

The depute fiscal said that bus driver Millar attended the accident and emergency department in Stirling.

He was told that he had a fractured bone in his hand which the doctor said would have been from punching Robertson who suffered a black eye.

Claire McCarron, representing Robertson, told the court that her client "accepts responsibility" and has acknowledged his behaviour was "wholly unacceptable".

Millar, who originally appeared as a co-accused in the case, had already been fined a sum of £100 for his part in the incident.

Sheriff David Mackie fined Robertson, of Bryanston Drive, a total of £135, to reflect the slightly later stage of his guilty plea.
