FUNDING of £210 was received by Stirling Youth Tenpin Bowling Club last month for new equipment.

The club is looking to undertake a new project with local primary schools and the money from ClubSport Stirling will support their efforts, allowing the purchase of new indoor tenpin blowing equipment.

It will help give more primary school pupils try the sport at school before potentially attending the club.

A range of taster sessions are being planned at after school clubs with experienced members who are keen to pass on their knowledge.

Ruth Henderson, Active Stirling’s community activation officer, said: “This is a really exciting time for Stirling Youth Tenpin Bowling Club and the development of tenpin bowls.

“Since the club formed in 2002 they have been prominent on the national and international stage for Scottish tenpin bowling, and this project will allow their experienced members to teach their skills to the younger generations at primary schools.

“Well done to the club and we look forward to seeing the club in our local primary schools.”
