CLACKMANNANSHIRE residents are being reminded that road chaos is about to hit in the coming weeks.

The council have announced that Tullibody Road will close from October 1 until October 12 in order for the road to be resurfaced in £150,000 works.

The improvements will involve the resurfacing of the existing carriageway, along with upgrades to existing gullies and ironwork over a section of the road almost 645m long between the B908 Parkway and Dawson Avenue.

The works will be carried out during the day time between 8am-5pm each day. However, the road will be closed throughout the 2 week period with a diversion route in place via the A907 - B9140 – A908 and vice versa.

HGVs will be diverted via the B909 to avoid the low bridge on Whins Road, Alloa. The project will move in phases along the 645m site as work progresses with side road closures implemented during each stage of works.

Access to properties and businesses will be restricted for the duration of the works.

Alterations to existing bus services are to be expected with some routes diverted using routes agreed with the service providers.

Pedestrians should also be advised that the footway network will be open for the duration of the works but temporary footway diversions may be in place for pedestrian safety.

A council spokesperson said: “While we recognise that the 24-hour road closure will cause disruption, it is essential to ensure the safety of the road workers and travelling public whilst the operations are ongoing.

“We encourage road users to plan their journey in advance and allow some extra journey time.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.”

It has been a summer of road works for Wee County residents, with the biggest disruption coming on the A907 Clackmannan bypass which has been partially closed since June 25 while it undergoes widening works.
