PERTHSHIRE motorists using the A84 two miles south of Lochearnhead are being warned to expect delays as resurfacing works get underway.

The £270,000 investment by Transport Scotland will eventually bring improvements to 1.5km of the A84.

However, the works, which will commence Monday 4 December and are likely to take up to ten days to complete, will mean some disruption.

The improvements will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Friday.

To ensure the safety of road workers and road users temporary traffic signals and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These works will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A84, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage motorists to plan their journeys ahead and where possible allow for extra time to reach their destination.”
