ANDY Graham revealed he was humbled after scooping multiple awards at Alloa’s end-of-season player of the year event.

Graham picked up three awards, including the Alloa Advertiser Player of the Year prize, the Directors’ award and the Supporters’ Player of the Year.

And the defender admitted he was surprised to be chosen over his team-mates.

Graham told Advertiser Sport: “I’m humbled. I’m really happy to win the awards but it did come as a bit of a surprise to me. It’s hard to believe a centre-half is picking up the awards with the array of attacking players we’ve got.

"It could have gone to any one of so many players so I’m really appreciative of everyone who has chosen me for the awards.

“Credit has to go to all the boys because it’s never just one or two players who achieve it. It’s a team effort and I think as a squad, every single player has contributed something.

"The most important thing is the team ethos and spirit around the place.”

Graham praised the fans who have followed the Wasps up and down the country this season, and revealed he enjoys being able to give something back to them.

He said: “When it’s people who come week in, week out to support their local team it means so much more and that’s why it’s great to have functions where the players can interact with the fans.

"I was a Morton fan growing up and I used to love it at events when all the players would come in.

"The fans have followed us all over the country all season and that, again, is so humbling because what we are doing means so much to them.”

Now the centre-back insists it’s time for Alloa to finish the job in the promotion playoffs, and admitted the squad will be bitterly disappointed if they are not promoted to the Championship.

He added: “We have done well but we’ve not achieved anything yet, and we all agree that if we don’t end the season with a promotion, it would be a failure.

"We need to focus now and make sure we finish the job.”
