DOUNE CASTLE was victorious over Greenock HSFP in a Scottish Amateur Cup replay in the fifth round.

Four goals at a fog-bound Forthbank accelerated the Castle to the next round at the weekend.

Just four minutes in, Sean Heaver rifled his side into the lead after a Chris Ogilvie free kick.

Skilfully flicking the ball into the air, he unleashed a ferocious right foot volley that dropped into the net just under the bar.

But a few minutes later, Greenock equalised when Steven Fortheringham parried Munro's shot. Antonie was quick to lash the loose ball high into the net.

Doune took the lead again after 25 minutes when Des Currie threaded a precise pass through the Greenock backline to Alan More. He swivelled and drove the ball into the far corner from the tightest of angles around 10 yards from the goal.

Soon after, Doune made it 3-1. At around 28 minutes in, More flicked on a long ball from Ryan Duncanson.

Lukasz Duszynski shrugged off two challenges before breaking clear and calmly slotting the ball past the keeper from 12 yards.

Greenock was keen to test keeper Fortheringham after the half-time break – he saved a low drive from the left edge of the box 48 minutes in, four minutes later, he punched clear a promising corner from the right.

But Greenock could not find its way back into the game, with Doune battering their defence with crisp angled passing as it started to dominate possession.

After 75 minutes, Chris Ogilvie sealed the win for his side with a brilliant solo effort.

He was found by Dylan McGowan and gathered some 30 yards out wide in the left.

Ogilvie brushed aside his first marker to dart forward. He then got past another defender to drive to the byline.

Advancing on the keeper, he deftly stabbed the ball from a tight angle instead of cutting back like many would anticipate.

The ball landed in the far corner of the net, making it 4-1 for Doune.

The rest of the game saw Doune play with time comfortably to earn passage into the sixth round of the Scottish Amateur Cup.
