STIRLING COUNTY RFC is returning to action this weekend.

The squad will be entertaining BT Premiership league-leaders Melrose at Bridgehaugh Park on Saturday, January 14, with kick-off at 3pm.

County is currently in sixth position and will be looking to avenge the early-season defeat by the Borderers at The Greenyards.

On the other hand, the Bridgehaugh side is hoping to keep the momentum going.

Stirling County's second XV beat Boroughmuir 22 to 15 at Bridgehaugh to stay in the top spot of the BT National Reserve League Division Two.

Four tries were scored by Morgan Whitton, Callum Jardine, Michael Pomphrey and Mark Hunter, with Logan Bonnar adding a conversion.

On Saturday, the seconds will travel to play Aberdeenshire at the Woodside Sports Complex at 2pm.

Also this weekend, the U18 team will meet Biggar Colts at Hartree Mill on Saturday, while the U16s are playing Boroughmuir at Meggatland Sports Complex on Sunday.

Pre-match lunches are available before the first XV's home BT Premiership matches at Bridgehaugh – the meal this weekend is at 1pm before the match.

It costs £15 for members and £25 for non-members and includes a two-course lunch, match admission and a seat in the stand – to book, contact Alastair Cunningham via alandishbel2@btinternet.com or Emma at the club office on 01786 478 866 or email emma@stirlingcounty-rfc.co.uk.

The club's annual fundraising night is also taking place this month.
