A SUNNY start to the Scottish Cup for Bannockburn Amateurs with a second round win away to Barrhill AFC.

Jazz Donaldson headed the opener in four minutes from a Gary Currie cross after the keeper had saved the first attempt. On ten Andy McGown header struggled to threaten after a good cross from Ross Cavanagh. On the fifteen mark Gary Currie cross and David Donaldson miss kicked what every on looker expected would be the Burn second. Brother Jazz next waltzed through the Barrhill defence and fizzed a shot wide of the right hand side post on 23 minutes.

Jazz did however make it two nil with a precise re-run of the first. He completed his hat trick on 36 when his outside the box shot skidded off the defender and sailed over the keeper.

After half time, Allan Green replaced Ross Cavanagh and made an instant impact. Within five minutes Green finished a neat one two with a shot to the keepers left to make it four.

By eight a Barrhill converted free kick from 20 yards opened their account. Barrhill almost doubled their goals tally within seconds of the restart.

However it was Burn all the way as Ross Evans hit the post, both Green and Currie hit the bar, Steven Knox went close too.

Jazz scored his fourth to make it five one in the seventy fifth minute. Moments later Mark Flynn replaced him. James Graham on for David Donaldson had a header that needed another good save from the Barrhill keeper. John McGregor replaced Ross Evans.

Knox blasted home Burn's sixth in the 86th to complete the scoring.

The team want to wish all the best to its four players representing Scotland in Malta this week at the European Cup of Nations. They are: Harry Bruce, Andy McGown (Capt), Gary Currie and Kenny McLellan.
