Active Stirling hosted the P3/4 Primary Schools Tennis Competition Finals Day at the Gannochy Sports Centre, University of Stirling.

The event brought together the winning schools from the P3/4 cluster tennis competitions which were hosted at local clubs or schools.

The Primary Schools that took part were Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Allans, Port of Menteith, Thornhill & Kippen. Congratulations to Dunblane Primary School team 2 who took 1st place in the Finals Day with a brilliant performance, winning the FES sponsored trophy for the school once again. Dunblane Primary School yeam 1 took the runners up medals with a very close final against their own school friends.

This programme has been delivered in partnership by Active Stirling and local tennis clubs Bridge of Allan Sports Club, Dunblane Sports Club, Stirling Lawn Tennis Club, Kippen Tennis Club, Strathblane Tennis Club & Killearn Tennis Club.

From February to June every P3 & P4 pupils from Stirlingshire Schools have had the opportunity to experience Tennis Tasters as well as having the chance to play at a local tennis after school club.

Ruth Henderson (Club Development Officer from Active Stirling) said: "It's been wonderful to see tennis delivered across all the Stirlingshire schools and a really positive experience for everyone involved. The Finals Day was a great way to showcase some of the local tennis talent coming through our school & club programmes, it was a great opportunity for pupils to learn new skills and to link with local accredited cricket clubs.”
