Dunblane New Golf Club hosted the visited of Beth Allen, the current Ladies European Tour Masters Champion and 2016 Order of Merit leader last week.

Beth had kindly donated a days golf as part of the clubs Captains Charity Fundraising and the three luck winners of the prize draw took their places in the May sunshine with Beth.

The season is now well and truly underway and Dunblane Ladies have been in action both at home and away. In the Dumyat League, Dunblane played host to visitors from Tulliallan Golf Club, the home team came out on top winning two of the three games. The club was also well represented at county level, as seven pairs took part in the Commonwealth Spoons Foursome competition at Dunning Golf Club. It was a good day for Dunblane as the top three places were taken by club members who will now go forward to the next stage of the competition which is played over the Eden course at St. Andrews in September.

At home, over fifty players were competing to qualify for the Craig and Hastie Cups. Helen Wynd’s nett 70 was the best score returned in Division One. Followed by Joan Muir and Maggi Davidson, who both came in with a nett 74. In Division Two, Linda Paul returned an excellent nett score of 68 to take the top spot, second and third were Michelle Abel and Jane Dunbar – respectively – who had nett 71s.
