A MAN was punched and knocked to the ground during an assault in Alloa.

The attacker was 21-year-old William McGrath, of Pine Grove, Alloa.

The assault took place at his dad's home.

McGrath was convicted of a string of offences and returned to Alloa Sheriff Court for sentencing.

On August 12, at Harris Court, Alloa, he assaulted a man by pushing him on the body and repeatedly punched him on the head causing him to fall to the ground.

Then, on August 14, he breached bail conditions by going to Harris Court, and later, on September 23, he committed the same offence.

Finally, on September 20, at Falkirk police station and during a journey there from Alloa, he shouted, swore and repeatedly made offensive comments to an officer.

At the police station he was in possession of cannabis.

Defence solicitor Charlotte Watt said: "He's described his actions as stupid."

The court heard McGrath is already on a community payback order (CPO) with unpaid work.

Sheriff Neil Bowie added: "He has anger management issues. He seems very volatile."

The sheriff imposed another CPO with 275 hours of unpaid work and 18 months of supervision.
