ALLOA MUSICAL PLAYERS held their first show of 2024 last week, entertaining massive crowds with their production of Sister Act.

Sister Act was held from Wednesday, March 13 to Saturday, March 16, with the star-studded cast working hard to put on an unforgettable show for visitors.

The production was put on at Alloa’s Town Hall, attracting droves of guests to the four sold out performances, with members of the public thoroughly enjoying it.

Alloa Musical Players posted a thank you to their audiences on Facebook, stating: “We can’t help but sing praises to our incredible audience.

“Thank you all for being absolutely brilliant during our production of Sister Act with the Alloa Musical Players.

“Your energy, applause and support made each performance truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to share the stage with.

“A massive shout out to our incredible audience for making Sister Act a smashing success!

“Your energy, enthusiasm, and support mean the world to us.”

Based on the hit 1992 film, Sister Act follows disco diva Deloria Van Cartier as she witnesses a murder and is placed in protective custody as a nun.

Butting heads with the nun lifestyle and the uptight Mother Superior, Deloris aims to breathe new life into the church and community while trying to maintain her cover.

Alloa Musical Players took to their Facebook page to thank audiences for coming out and helping them with their charity fundraiser.

Overall, the Musical Players raised more than £800 for the Wee County Cancer Research UK Fundraising group.

They said: “Thank you to our bar and front of house team and all the other volunteers.

“From the Alloa Town Hall staff, spotlights, backstage and many other helpers.

“It takes a community to help put on our shows, so a massive God bless.”

Lastly, the Alloa Musical Players have now teased their next show – a production of The Wedding Singer.
