JAMES ARTHUR has been announced as the fourth headline act at Stirling Summer Sessions.

The English born singer songwriter will take to the stage for the inaugural festival, hot off the heels of releasing his fifth studio album Bitter Sweet Love.

The X Factor winner will be headlining day one of the festival, the first of its kind to be held in Stirling, on Thursday, June 27.

His fifth album recently debuted at number one in the UK charts, marking his second number one album across his 12 year career.

Since winning the ninth season of The X Factor in 2012, he has gone platinum four times and gold twice, with Stirling being his only festival appearance this year.

He will be joined on stage by 2012 and 2023 Eurovision winner Loreen and Scottish alt rock band Fatherson, who have previously toured with the likes of Biffy Clyro, Feeder and Idlewild.

A spokesperson for event organisers said: “As a small city with a big history which is celebrating its 900th anniversary in 2024, Stirling is known for the attraction of its historic Castle which will form the stunning backdrop of the Stirling Summer Sessions stage at Stirling City Park

Stirling has a strong track record of successfully hosting major events and big crowds, and the city’s central location provides excellent transport links, being within an hour’s travel time for 50% of Scotland’s population.”

James Arthur will feature alongside some huge names in the industry, including Busted, Tom Jones and Shania Twain.
