A CAREERS service will be changing base in Alloa as part of a drive to help more people through partnership with community venues.

Skills Development Scotland, which currently operate out of a shop on Bank Street in Alloa, will be moving to Forth Valley College at the start of March.

The national skills body will be relocating to the Alloa campus and relaunching their services on Wednesday, March 6.

Dave McCallum, head of operations south east for SDS, said: “Our team in Alloa will continue to provide professionally qualified careers advice in our new home in the Alloa campus of Forth Valley College.

“The college is a modern and accessible location for our customers and just a short distance away from our current base.

“We’re excited at the prospect of continuing to deliver exceptional levels of service to residents in Alloa and the surrounding area.

“We’ll be delivering service there from Wednesday, March 6, 2024 and customers will be able to meet with our advisers by appointment Monday to Friday.

“They will also have the option of accessing our services at various community venues across Clackmannanshire including Alva Community Access Point, Tullibody Community Access Point, Alloa Speirs Centre and The Gate in Alloa, if that is more accessible to them.”

The SDS team will move out of their current Bank Street premises on Wednesday, February 28 before reopening at Forth Valley College the following week.

This means there will be a period of one week where people cannot access the services, but can still do so from the other contact points across Clackmannanshire.

Kenny MacInnes, principal of Forth Valley College, added: “Skills Development Scotland play a vital role in supporting Scotland’s next generation of industry professionals and we are delighted to welcome them and their new career service hub to our Alloa campus.

“I have no doubt this will help to develop and enhance the vital role they are already playing in the Clackmannanshire community.”

SDS advisors can be contacted between Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm on 01259 215214.
