A CLACKS charity band performed a fundraiser gig in Larbert, smashing their total fundraising target of £10,000.

Country outfit Walk Don’t Run (WDR) performed at the free event in Larbert, raising £1,300 from a crowd of more than 100 people.

This total now gets added to the sum they have raised for a number of charities and community groups since forming in 2021.

Over the course of the past two years, six-piece WDR have raised a grand total of £10,000, with it all going to charities and projects.

Their gig in Larbert was used to raise £1,300 for the Maggie’s Centre and Strathcarron Hospice and also featured the band playing their 500th song.

Alex Todd, member of WDR, said: “The boys are delighted with their achievements, but it’s thanks to everyone who comes along to our gigs and donates to our nominated charity.

“We’re lucky to have a core support who travel round, helping raise funds and building the atmosphere.

“We’ve also got a great volunteer team who drive our equipment to and from gigs, help set up, manage our admin, and produce our merchandise.

“Hopefully, we can break the £15,000 target in 2024, and it would be great to do a festival some time.

“We’ll also be recording our second EP in the new year.”

Walk Don’t Run will be putting on their final gig for 2023 in Alloa on Friday, December 15 in aid of Strathcarron Hospice.
