FOREFRONT will be performing Aladdin this January as their Christmas pantomime.

The Alloa stage school will be running their annual pantomime after Christmas and Amber Clark, principal at Forefront, said: “We try to make it bigger and better every year.”

She added: “We do just the usual really, sparkly costumes, we’ve got about probably 80 kids in the cast this year, and we just usually provide great quality pantomiming in the wee county.

“This is my tenth year since having the school, and Aladdin’s just such a classic pantomime that we felt that this was a good year to do it.”

Some of the children taking part in the pantomime are as young as just six years old.

“All the kids are ecstatic, really looking forward to it, it’s always great, like something to look forward to after Christmas," said Amber.

"Sometimes January is such a lull, but we rehearse over Christmas and New Year so, yeah, everyone’s got something to look forward to after all the festivities.”

The pantomime runs from Tuesday, January 5, to Wednesday, January 13. Some of the pupils at Forefront have big plans for next year.

Amber said: “So, I’m actually taking 25 pupils to New York in July. We’re going to New York for four nights to perform in a Broadway theatre and also we’re performing in Times Square.”

The school and parents have been raising money for their trip through events such as big afternoon teas.

“There’s not really anyone else in the wee county or further out that’s offering those kinds of experiences or opportunities for people.” Amber added.
