POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened and verbally abused on board a train between Glasgow Central and Clarkston stations.

Shortly after 4.45pm on July 17, a man boarded a train at Glasgow Central Station and started talking with another passenger. The passenger then asked the man to lower his voice, as he was being loud and swearing. The man then became aggressive to the passenger, verbally abusing him in a threatening manner.

The victim then left his seat and moved away from the man. However the suspect continued to shout verbal abuse at the victim after leaving the train at Clarkston at approximately 5.20pm.

The suspect is white, around 6ft, and of slim build with light brown hair (short sides and back but longer on top). He was wearing a green t-shirt, dark blue jeans, grey trainers and was carrying a grey backpack over this shoulders.
